Mr. Alber started his career as an Assistant District Attorney under the Honorable Kathleen M. Rice. After the District Attorney’s Office, he worked for Dergarabedian & Dillon, P.C., in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. While at Dergarabedian & Dillon, P.C., Mr. Alber developed the reputation for being an aggressive litigator, while maintaining a level of patience and professionalism unrivaled.
In 2013, Mr. Alber founded the Law Offices of Michael J. Alber P.C., a six (6) member firm. Mr. Alber has been quoted in the New York Times, and has received recognition in some of New York’s publicized criminal and family law cases. His trial ability has been recognized amongst the bench and bar with the highest quality. He holds a 10/10 AVVO rating, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive. In 2015 and 2016, he was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in the area of criminal defense.
